After Zapata’s injury, it was thought that he could return central in Torino’s offensive project, but this has not been the case: the Granata number 9 cannot find space. Un finale amaro
Against Como – his first game as a starter after five days – in the last opportunity granted him, Sanabria did not make an impact. On the contrary, his performance was emblematic of a challenged player, far from the one who in past seasons had been able to win confidence and minutes to the tune of heavy goals. Despite a few appearances alongside Adams, he never managed to carve out a stable space for himself in Vanoli’s eleven, often ending up on the fringes of technical choices.

For the Paraguayan striker, the league is therefore likely to end in the worst way: with very few goals and with many doubts about the future. The figure is merciless: zero goals scored in 2025. A bitter end to the season, for a footballer who seemed to be able to relaunch himself precisely at a time when Toro needed him. The opportunities were not entirely lacking, but they were never properly exploited. And now, farewell is no longer a distant possibility. His contract still binds him to the Granata club, but it is clear that the club could make evaluations, especially if offers come in. The feeling is that Sanabria’s cycle under the Mole is slowly dying out. The summer market will be decisive in clarifying his fate, but at the moment the present tells of a season that leaves more regrets than satisfaction. A season that, for Sanabria, smacks of a missed opportunity.
