To retain the best, you need money. To strengthen the team, you need resources. And for both, a plan is needed. Roma has it clear in its mind: the first goal remains to hit a European placement, which would guarantee valuable revenues and open up new prospects. But Florent Ghisolfi, with his feet firmly planted on the ground, is already working on a broader, more concrete scenario: cashing in without dismantling the team.
The Giallorossi manager is working on a series of outgoing operations that, at least on paper, can bring about 60 million into the club’s coffers without touching the valuable pieces of the squad (Svilar, Ndicka and Konè) from which Roma wants to start again. The idea is clear: to realize capital gains from players considered transferable, while keeping the team’s backbone intact.
The first names on the list involve profiles already destined to change jerseys. Zalewski is promised to Inter Milan, which is expected to pay 6.5 million for redemption. Benfica is ready to buy Swedish full-back Dahl for a sum around 8 million. Celik has also already chosen: he has had an agreement with Fulham since January and his transfer should bring between 7 and 8 million. The same applies to Tammy Abraham, who seems destined to stay at Milan: offers on the same economic range are expected for him.
Another outgoing pawn is Hermoso, currently on loan at Bayer Leverkusen: his return will only be in passing, before a new transfer that should yield another 4-5 million. Finally, the real treasure comes from Enzo Le Fée: Sunderland has already promised 22 million for the French midfielder.
Ghisolfi, in short, has charted the course: monetize where possible, but without affecting the technical value of the roster. Roma’s future also passes from here.
