AS ROMA NEWS – Alessandro Romano was featured in the latest episode of Dreaming Roma, a column in which the Giallorossi’s Primavera talents tell their stories. The Swiss midfielder, fresh from his renewal with the capital club, talked about his early years in the Giallorossi. His words.
You have Roma in your last name, it was meant to be… “It seems so, even in Switzerland they made the same joke. Let’s see where the future takes us.”
You were also born on June 17… “Roma won the third Scudetto, actually I didn’t know that before. My cousin’s husband is a real Roma fan and he told me about it. In 2006 Italy also won the World Cup, and on June 17 my parents got married.”
The negotiation that brought you to Roma? “I always played at Winterthur, then two years at Grasshopper. Roma saw me play in the national team against Italy, then they came to watch a game at Winterthur. Two days later we had a video call, we got to know each other a little bit, they explained Roma, Trigoria, the project. Then we came here and I immediately fell in love with Roma, signed and started this adventure.”
First year immediately Scudetto, did you expect it? “I came here to grow and improve. I always want to win, winning the Scudetto was beautiful.”
You want to win even in the little game-“Yes, I get nervous right away if I lose.”
You scored in your Primavera debut and derby… “I thank the coach for that time. I started with the U18 and then went up to Primavera. Nice to score on debut, the derby beautiful.”

“Sì, ma nello stesso tempo è un segnale di peculiarità. È stato trovato un equilibrio che sicuramente sorprende da un certo punto di vista. Di nomi ne sono stati fatti tanti, si è arrivati a pensare che la scelta fosse stata fatta ma penso che si debba ammettere che la struttura attuale è comunque riuscita ad andare avanti”.
