Between insights, returns and suggestions: Juve once again looks toward that square to build the future. And a young talent peeps

Next year’s for Juventus will be a small revolution. No fireworks, but a tweak here, a filing there, with the fixed idea of fixing those details that, in the long run, make all the difference.
Among these, surprisingly, is goalkeeping. A role that, over the years, has always been synonymous with stability in Turin. From the days of Buffon onward, there has rarely been a need to put a hand in the department. And yet today there is: not for lack of talent, but for that uncomfortable feeling you are left with when everything is “good enough,” but nothing is really decisive.
Di Gregorio and Perin are two reliable, serious, professional goalkeepers. The former, who arrived from Monza last summer, has done his duty carefully. The second, now a pillar of the locker room, has become a luxury second that does not make the starter regret. Still, there is a question hovering in Vinovo: does it make sense to have two good, indeed excellent, goalkeepers but none stratospheric?
It is not just about quality, but strategy. Two players similar in level and profile may work for a while, but in the long run they risk getting in each other’s way. Above all, it seems clear that neither will ever reach a level higher than they are now.
So here’s where a much more attractive hypothesis takes shape: keep only one of the two-or even neither-and focus on a young talent, to be nurtured slowly, without the pressures of having to immediately live up to the heaviest jersey in Serie A.
Juve, per il portiere si può tornare a Monza: Turati può diventare un top
By dint of reasoning about it, it goes back there: to Monza. Where, as it happens, Di Gregorio himself was fished last summer. And where today there is another goalkeeper who could be a good fit for the bianconeri, albeit with a slightly different story: 23-year-old Stefano Turati, one of the few lights in a disastrous season for Monza.

Turati is actually owned by Sassuolo. And it is Sassuolo that sent him out on loan to cut his teeth in Serie A. Mission accomplished: the boy has shown personality, explosiveness, and that hard-to-explain thing some call “presence.” When he’s between the posts, you can feel it. Even when things around him are falling apart.
The neroverde plan, now, is clear: bring him back home and put the door of the future in his hands. But if Juve then knocks, even the most well-thought-out plans may falter. The Bianconeri, grappling with a market that has yet to be deciphered, could then pair him with a more experienced goalkeeper to be a starter while waiting for Turati to be ready. It could even be Di Gregorio himself or even an international big man looking for a revival.
The idea of a pair consisting of a rising boy and an international totem has its own appeal. And it would also make sense: cover your back, give it time, pitch when you are really ready.
Everything, however, revolves around a decision that will have to be made quickly: figuring out who will really be at the center of the Juve project between the posts. Because in that area there of the field, more than anywhere else, you need someone you can trust with your eyes closed.
