New drubbing for Sinner and his fans: comes the very harsh statements against him, what’s going on

For Jannik Sinner, the light at the end of the tunnel is near. We have entered the last month of his three-month disqualification, which, after a long tug of war, he decided to settle with WADA in agreement with his lawyers. The South Tyrolean has not been able to participate in major tournaments during this period but, despite this, he still managed to keep the first place in the Ranking: no dice with Zverev and Alcaraz, the only ones who could have caught up with him. The pressure played a trick on him and neither of them took advantage of it.
Sinner will return to the court for the Internazionali d’Italia in Rome on May 6: the official announcement came thanks to Binaghi, the president of the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation, who announced Sinner’s participation in the tournament (also useful in terms of box office). While he is finally ready to put aside this ugly affair, there are those who still have not digested the stop so briefly. And among them, unexpectedly, is an Italian champion.
Pellegrini contro Sinner: “Trattato diversamente”
Interviewed by La Repubblica, Federica Pellegrini spoke out on the Clostebol case involving Sinner over the past year and which, as we know, led him to a three-month disqualification plea deal to end the affair. A short period compared to what many had predicted with the Lausanne TAS ruling (there was talk of as much as one or two years). And this did not exactly go down well with Pellegrini either.

“Jannik is well-liked and therefore he is defended in every respect, regardless, and I find that fair. But I think his case has been treated differently than 99 percent of cases,” Pellegrini began about the case. The former Italian swimmer talks about how athletes must handle the anti-doping issue: “Not everyone knows how it works for an athlete subject to surprise doping controls and competing throughout the year. Athletes live with one constant thought, that of having to provide an hour on-call slot every day of their lives even when they are on vacation to allow the anti-doping to visit them wherever they are,” she added.
In short, for Pellegrini, the disqualification of only three months is unfair: “Why should the Sinner case be any different? That’s my question. And different it was: the solution came only after the WADA appeals. I’m not saying there should have been a suspension. But in fact he was treated as a different case from 99 percent of other athletes who have faced and paid for doping negligence.”
