A very clear victory for coach Cesc Fabregas’ boys at the Brianteo stadium in Monza, the Azzurri overturned it and made a decisive leap forward in the standings and pushed the Brianzoli down. It had not started well for Como, which went into a disadvantage at 5′, Mota’s goal for the “biancorossi,” but the reaction was immediate and first at 16′ Ikoné and at 36′ Diao overturned the result. In the resumption at 51′ it was Vojvoda with a great shot to close the file. Lots of goal chances with both Douvikas and Diao on the blue side while on the Monzese side great performance by Mota.
At 76′ Douvikas gets free well at the edge of the area and his shot ends up just wide. At 79′ D’Ambrosio comes out and Palacios enters in Monza. At 86′ Engelhardt enters out Nico Paz.
75′: The pace has dropped conspicuously, the Azzurri aim to bring in this victory. At 54′ Kempf is cautioned, in Monza enter Caldirola, Gagliardini and Castrovilli in place of Bianco, Birindelli and Kyriakopoulos. At 59′ in Como enter Smolcic and Perrone in place of Caqueret and Vojvoda. At 61′ Ciurria from the left for Mota’s right outside touch and Butez is great at deflecting it for a corner. There is a lot of space on either side and the excitement is certainly not over. Another change in Monza at 66′ out comes Akpa Akpro in comes Caprari. Many mistakes in the midfield in the setting phase by both teams, the Azzurri have lowered the pace and the biancorossi appear a bit tired, it’s hot. At 70′ Da Cunha’s brushstroke for Douvikas who sends a header high, out come Da Cunha and Ikoné in come Strefezza and Sergi Roberto. At 74′ nice assist by Perrone for Diao but the striker fails to get a shot off.
51′ GGGGOLLLL COMOO VOJVODA a bolide…..the Larian defender finds space forward, enters the area undisturbed on the right, and unloads a deadly right-footer that pierces Turati’s goal after touching the inside crossbar.
49′ MONZA OCCASION with Keita who, from close range, kicks but Butez manages to deflect the ball that ends up on the crossbar, Mota arrives and goes for a safe header but hits the crossbar again.
SECOND HALF.
Ending 2-1 for Como in the first half, the Azzurri did well to take back Monza, which had taken the lead at 5′ with Mota, thanks to goals by Ikoné at 16′ and Diao at 38′. There was no shortage of other chances for the Azzurri, who took as many as six shots on goal. In the midfield, especially in the initial phase of the match, the blue team lacked a filter and the red and white managed to create some danger.
At 41′ GOL COMO OCCASION with Nico Paz serving in the center-area Ikoné who kicks powerfully but Turati manages to reject, on the ball arrives Douvikas but sends high with the goal wide open. Immediately after a Monza restart with Mota who comes alone in front of Butez and the striker, after contact with the goalkeeper, ends up on the ground, the referee signals the penalty but the Var intervenes due to the previous offside of the biancorosso player. 35′: Very balanced this phase of the game, at 20′ Douvikas breaks free from the mark and goes for a shot, Turati clears, very good in this start of the game the Larian striker. At 24′ Kyriakopoulos is cautioned. Monza plays many balls on Mota who often looks for depth on the left side, putting the Como defense in trouble. At 28′ dangerous cross from Birindelli’s right side to the second post for Kyriakopoulos’ attempt but the Azzurri defense clears. Admonished Bianco at 37′.
