La rete di Gineitis ha prolunga la serie di partite in cui la formazione granata è andata a segno lontano da casa
From Ché Adams’ pearl from midfield against Empoli to Gvidas Gineitis’ left-handed saucer against Lazio, there are now eight consecutive games in which Torino has found a goal away from its own stadium. No other team in this Serie A has managed to do the same. This is an important figure because it testifies to the fact that in recent months Paolo Vanoli’s team has definitely shifted gears, even raising some regret for that blackout experienced between October and November that effectively excluded the granata from the race for Europe.
Genoa-Torino 0-0 l’ultima trasferta senza reti
The last time Torino ran out of goals away from home was on the 15th day, when the away match at Genoa’s home ground ended 0-0 (with a goal disallowed to Yann Karamoh in the final). Then against Empoli, Udinese, Fiorentina, Atalanta, Bologna, Monza, Parma and Lazio, the granata have always scored at least once, and only on one occasion did the goals scored not bring points: at the Dall’Ara, when Bologna won 3-2. And to think that before this positive series there had even been three consecutive away matches without goals to their credit: against Roma, Juventus and Genoa.
Il Torino segna anche senza Zapata
More generally, there are now eleven consecutive matches in which Torino has found the goal, in which case the last match with no goal to the credit is the home match against Parma last January 5 in which there remained some regret for the many chances created but not exploited. These figures also certify the good work done by Vanoli, who has managed to make up for the absence of a center forward of the caliber of Duvan Zapata and to find new solutions to send all the elements of his roster to the shot (and goal).
