Giovanni Di Lorenzo gave a brief interview to DAZN’s official channels just over 24 hours before the super challenge with AC Milan scheduled to take place at Maradona Stadium
During an exclusive interview on the DAZN app, Napoli captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo spoke about numerous issues on the eve of the big match against AC Milan. The Azzurri must find the 3 points again after a difficult period, with only one win between February and March. There can be no more mistakes if they still want to believe in the Scudetto dream.
Il retroscena su Lukaku e il rientro di Neres: parla di Lorenzo
Di Lorenzo was quick to talk about his teammates, from Lukaku to Neres, who will be available again, as announced by Antonio Conte in a press conference.
Background on Lukaku:
“Romelu is very important on the field and off the field, he has a lot of experience and certainly these goals in the national team have given him even more enthusiasm to come back to the club and continue doing what he has been doing until now. As I have already said, it will be a return for everyone with great desire to face this final season.”
Regarding David Neres’ return to the field, he stated:
“On the tactical aspect, the coach takes care of finding the solution and preparing the matches in the best way. The biggest weapon is the group and it has always been the group. Neres is an important player for us, we missed him in these matches but those who replaced him did just as well. The important thing is that the group is united, compact and all focused on what is the common goal.”
On returning from the national team, he added:
“We have all been back for two to three days. When you come back from nationals the game is prepared in a few days, however, we trained well. The group is fine, you can say that almost everything is back to full strength so we are ready for this season finale.”
Dalla condizione fisica e il murales a Napoli-Milan: le dichiarazioni
Di Lorenzo then addressed three other aspects, one off the field, concerning the mural that has been dedicated to him in recent days, and two related to the pitch: from the physical condition to the match with Milan.

Just on physical condition he explained:
“Surely everyone knows that with the coach you work a lot, however, then you feel it. You feel it in your body and there are the data to prove it. The fact of running, of always having a high intensity. The work during the week is important as was the work done in training camp. Now there are 9 games left and we will have to be brilliant, to have enthusiasm for this final goal, which then is what all the fans and the square also transmit to us.”
On the mural he expressed all his emotion:
“It had a certain effect on me honestly. Seeing a mural with one’s own face has an effect. I’m glad. I am very attached to this environment, they always give me great love and great passion, I try to reciprocate it on the field but also in everyday life when I meet people around the city.
I enjoyed it and hope in the next few days to go and see it live and bring my little girls too. It is a moment I would like to photograph and keep it for myself. I showed my daughters the picture, it will be strange for them too. They are little now, but as they grow up maybe they can go back to Naples and see this mural again. It’s a beautiful thing and that makes a certain effect, I repeat.”
Finally, the focus on Napoli-Milan:
“Definitely a tough game, we face a team with strong players, beyond the league where they are in a tough spot and maybe a little behind in positions.
It is a strong team, with quality and talented players, we will have to be careful to limit their characteristics and put our own qualities on the field, thanks also to the extra push from our public. In recent years we have often faced Milan: we have lost, we have won, so it is an open game. We will have to be very careful and try to give our best as we have done so far.”
