The Lega Serie A has decided to confirm the four-team format for the 2026 Italian Super Cup as well, which could see Bologna involved. Should the Rossoblù beat Empoli in the Coppa Italia semifinals, they would be part of the four clubs that would play for the Super Cup. Now the ball is in Saudi Arabia’s court, which will decide by the end of April whether or not to host the next edition.

We laid the foundations for the activities of the different Commissions we have activated and made important decisions, including the one on the format of the Super Cup. We now await the decision of the Saudi Arabian organizers, expected by the end of April, regarding the possibility of hosting the next edition of this competition.”
