AS ROMA NEWS – Ostiamare, a Serie D club owned by Daniele De Rossi, presented today the redevelopment work on its sports center. The former Roma captain and coach, together with Roma Capitale’s Councillor for Sport, Tourism, Fashion and Major Events, Alessandro Onorato, explained the progress of the project. An opportunity, for De Rossi, also to talk about his relationship with the properties that marked his career in the Giallorossi: “With the Sensi family I had a great relationship. And I also had a good time with the Friedkins.”
How is the national team doing after this 3-3 draw?
“It was a good game, I only saw the second half so it was a magical game. The second half was incredible. Then I saw and read that it didn’t go very well in the first half, but it can happen against a team like Germany.”
Has he been in touch with Ranieri?
“I heard him the first time and we talked with great affection and great esteem with availability from both of us. After that no, he is working and I don’t bother him. Today I would focus more on Ostia Mare and Ostia” .
We could use a coach in Pigneto. Would he accept?
“I hope I’m not free to be a coach and in my opinion I won’t be anytime soon. I have to decline the invitation or maybe they’ll kick me out pretty soon there, too. Maybe I will be available again.”
How will he be able to reconcile his commitment as president of Ostiamare and coaching next year?
“With great simplicity, I’m here so many days a week because I won’t be here later. What we do today is draw a line. I will always be present as a figure. My general manager has to manage independently and we talk about how we would like things to be managed in the future. I will be elsewhere and if I am not elsewhere I will come to Ostia and be present with the same presence as I am now. That’s why I delegate, the others will be present and they will take over for me. But we can’t take each other for a ride; my job is something else. My passion is to coach. I will not have time to think about two teams. I am succeeding now, but in the future I will not be able to do that. That work there takes even more energy out of you.”
