The Lega Serie A has launched an experimental phase involving the audio broadcast of the referee’s voice, both at sports venues and during television broadcasts, exclusively during On-Field Reviews. The project will debut in the Bologna-Empoli and Milan-Inter matches, marking a turning point in refereeing communication.
Lega Serie A CEO Luigi De Siervo clarified the intent of the new measure: “We want decisions to be increasingly understandable and transparent to the public,” he said. This is a step toward greater public participation in the most talked-about moment of matches: the check at the monitor by the match director.
