Milan’s season has been below expectations, with obvious mistakes that need to be remedied for the future. In addition to the mistakes of coaches and players on the field, there were also those of a management that was too inexperienced to manage such an important club.

Fortunately, they have realized in Via Aldo Rossi that it is necessary to rely on a new sporting director: an experienced figure who knows Italian soccer. A man of the field, but also good at communicating. The “working group” formula with the Furlani-Ibrahimovic-Moncada triad has not worked perfectly these past two years. Something needs to be changed and it has to be done in the right way, no wrong choice.

Nuovo direttore sportivo Milan: la mossa di Furlani

Several names have been approached by Milan in recent weeks. At first it seemed to be Igli Tare the big favorite to become the new ds, but for a few days now it has been Fabio Paratici who has jumped into pole position.

Sky Sport has confirmed what was anticipated by Serieanews.com: he is the former of Sampdoria, Juventus and Tottenham is a more than concrete name. Giorgio Furlani and Paratici have had a long contact in recent hours and the possibility of working together ahead of next season was discussed.

Sky Sport specifies that there is still no final decision on the part of Milan, which in any case with Furlani will also have contacts with other managers. Paratici is given as the first choice by several journalistic sources and today it comes natural to think that it will be his turn, a great connoisseur of Italian and also international soccer, to take on the role of Rossoneri sporting director.

It should be remembered that Paratici will not be able to be operational until July 20 because of the disqualification imposed for the capital gains trial involving Juventus. This is a factor that is likely to give Furlani pause, although in the end the 52-year-old from Emilia could still be hired.

Other names leaked in recent weeks, in addition to that of the aforementioned Tare, are: Tony D’Amico (Atalanta), Thiago Scuro (Munich), Markus Krösche (Eintracht Frankfurt), and Kim Falkenberg (Bayer Leverkusen). The latter seems quite unlikely, since it was only in early March that the Aspirins officially appointed him as ds.
