Campoccia: “Giampaolo Pozzo’s intuition was to see the stadium in a new way.”

Udinese Vice President Stefano Campoccia spoke at the conference “Infrastructure and Sports: an asset for the country. Financial and Legal Profii between Risks and Opportunities.” Here is an excerpt of his statements

“Giampaolo Pozzo’s insight was to see the stadium not as a cost, but as a revenue center. This approach led us to see it as a real business. Udinese, a club with 30 years in Serie A and revenues of 80 million, has developed an industrial model in which the stadium is seen as a strategic asset. We aim for carbon neutrality, with the installation of photovoltaic panels on the roof. The facility hosts 110 events a year and is managed as a business unit, with balanced costs and revenues. One example is the 300-seat auditorium, an investment that generates additional revenue. We are working on facial recognition, although there are regulatory complexities related to privacy. We are also considering digital investments to improve the matchday experience and attract audiences even on non-match days.
