Adrien Tameze quest’anno non ha giocato molto, poi Casadei gli ha preso il posto. Ma mancano ancora 9 partite
Not all Torino players have obviously left with their national teams. Only 11 are in training camp with their selections, the others are continuing to train at the Filadelfia under the guidance of Paolo Vanoli. One of them is Adrien Tameze, a midfielder who has struggled to find space this season. There are still 9 games to go before the end of the 2024/2025 Serie A championship, and Tameze can still try to take on Toro. Not an easy feat, given the competition in the middle of the field and the switch to 4-2-3-1. Tameze is playing for the future in a sense.
Una stagione complicata
Tameze was a starter in Vanoli’s 3-5-2 at the beginning of the year. As a right halfback, with Ricci in the middle and Ilic on the left. But then after the Pinzolo training camp and the first few matches, it was soon clear that Vanoli preferred Linetty. Often the Frenchman with the number 61 on his shoulders remained on the bench from the beginning to the end of the game. Then he recovered and played as a starter Fiorentina-Torino 1-1, Torino-Cagliari 2-0 and Atalanta-Torino 1-1. Then 30 minutes in Torino-Genoa 1-1 that cost him a calf injury. Thus he missed Bologna-Torino, Torino-Milan and Monza-Torino. Instead, he remained only on the bench in the 2-2 draw at the Tardini in Parma. But against Empoli he returned to the field in the final minutes. A point to build on.
La concorrenza e il contratto
Now with the 4-2-3-1 there is only room for 2 midfielders. Casadei, while he was in the pits, blew his place. He and Ricci are the permanent starters. Then there is also Gineitis who is doing very well. Finally, Linetty and Ilic. It will not be easy for Tameze to have space, but he is a very pliant player. He has played 17 games so far. His contract expires in 2026. So this would be the right summer to sell him and not lose him at zero the following year but it will be Vanoli who will evaluate if he is Toro-like and can be part of the project next year as well.
