Juventus, it’s game over for Motta: exoneration possibly as early as today, Tudor on the way

MORE NEWS – Juventus has decided to relieve Thiago Motta of his duties, believing that his stay could jeopardize the race for Champions League qualification, a key goal to guarantee revenues of at least 65 million euros. The decision came in the last few hours, after defeats against Atalanta and Fiorentina, where the team showed no reaction. Moreover, the Italo-Brazilian coach has had a passive attitude in recent training sessions, without seeking a confrontation with the players or conveying the right charge.

For the future, Juventus has chosen to rely on Igor Tudor, whose arrival is expected to be formalized within the next 24-48 hours. The former Juventus defender has already had experience at Juve as Pirlo’s deputy in the 2020/21 season and has given full availability to lead the team until the end of the season. Unlike Roberto Mancini, another candidate in the running, who, however, would have demanded a longer deal, Tudor agrees to be evaluated based on results, with possible confirmation only in case of Champions League qualification.

The club’s goal is to avoid making a long commitment to a coach before it is certain that the minimum goal for the season has been reached. After the eliminations in the Super Cup, Coppa Italia and Champions League, the club does not want to risk another scheduling error. For this reason, it has opted for a short-term solution, reserving the right to make more considered choices at the end of the season.
