Jaka Bijol will be one of the hot names in Inter’s summer market. After the first attentions shown during the Coppa Italia challenge last December and the first leg match played in Udine in September, the Slovenian defender will be back under observation in the next round of the championship, when Udinese will visit the Nerazzurri at San Siro.
Experience, physicality and knowledge of Italian soccer
Born in 1999, Bijol has already matured three seasons in Serie A with the Udinese shirt, demonstrating solidity, reading ability and reliability in a three-man system. His profile perfectly meets the characteristics sought by Inter’s management: an experienced but still young (26 years old) central defender, already inserted in the context of the Italian league and able to quickly adapt to the tactical demands of Simone Inzaghi.
Evaluation remains the main obstacle
Although the interest is concrete and dates back several months, the negotiation with Udinese promises to be anything but simple. The Friulian club values Bijol at no less than 25 million euros, compared to spending just over 4 three years ago to acquire him from CSKA Moscow, a figure that Inter considers high, especially in light of the player’s contractual situation: in fact, the agreement expiring in 2027 does not put pressure on the Bianconeri, who have no urgency to sell.
Inter’s strategy: bonuses and clauses to lower the price
According to reports from colleagues at Il Corriere dello Sport, in order to get closer to Udinese’s request, Inter is studying a flexible formula, involving a fixed part lower than the current valuation, accompanied by bonuses linked to appearances, sports results or individual goals. The goal is to guarantee a monetization to the counterpart, but without incurring an excessive outlay in the initial part of the operation.
A regular starter in the national team as well
Making Bijol’s profile even more interesting is his performance with his national team. A starter for Slovenia, the center-back also participated in the last Nations League playoff engagement, helping to keep the goal unbeaten in the first leg match against Slovakia. A consistent performance that certifies his growth and status at the international level.
Next showcase: San Siro
The post-season challenge between Inter and Udinese will therefore be a new important test for Bijol, not only from a sporting point of view, but also from a market perspective. The Nerazzurri management will closely follow the performance of the central player, who has already entered the radar for the upcoming summer session, with the intention of arriving prepared for a possible acceleration in the coming months.
