The challenge between Inter and Napoli is not only played out in the league, but also in the market. Both clubs are in fact on the trail of Lorenzo Lucca, a Udinese striker who is having a star season and is also being followed by AC Milan and Atalanta.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Napoli sees the class of 2000 as the ideal profile to flank Romelu Lukaku, while Inter sees him as a possible alternative to the Lautaro-Thuram duo, with similar characteristics to those of Marko Arnautovic, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
At the moment, Aurelio De Laurentiis’ club seems to have a slight advantage in the race for Lucca, thanks to its good relations with the Pozzo family, which owns Udinese. The Friulian club values its striker at least 30 million euros, a figure that both Napoli and Inter will try to reduce by including technical quid pro quos in the negotiations.
While waiting for concrete developments, Napoli is also following Georges Mikautadze of Olympique Lyon and Mohamed Bonny of Parma as alternatives, showing that it wants to invest in a prospective striker.
The race in Lucca is wide open and an intense duel is on the horizon between the two clubs, which are also ready to challenge each other in the market to reinforce their respective offensive departments.
