Former Udinese coach Stefano Colantuono spoke on the pages of Il Messaggero Veneto colleagues talking about the season of the Bianconeri led by colleague Kosta Runjaic. Here is an excerpt of his statements.
THE LOSS AGAINST VERONA – “From my point of view it is an accident of the road. It is a misstep that can happen in the course of a tournament, a match that perhaps many people did not expect. As for qualifying for the cups, for me, there is plenty of time to get back on track.”
NO SPECIFIC BLAME ON GOL RECEIVED BY DUDA – “I never dwell on the individual when conceding a goal. Often you concede a goal because of many small mistakes by several players.”
IN GUIDOLIN’S FOOTSTEPS – “I mainly think about the fact that Udinese is having a very good championship, in which it has given continuity of results after starting well. The team has shown compactness and has always been far from the hot zone of the standings. It has returned to playing those tournaments of “Guidolian” memory. And this is the most positive aspect.”
EUROPEAN DREAM – “In front of the Bianconeri there are teams running, Roma above all, but one must always set a goal. We have to try the European chase until the end. I realize that this is a difficult goal, but you need to work to improve your position in the standings as much as possible. There are still many games left to play and you can set yourself to try to close the championship at between 55 and 60 points.”
MISTER KOSTA RUNJAIC – “If Udinese decided to bet on him, it means they had seen something in him. I am a pragmatist, I look at the facts: he has scored 40 points so far, he has proven himself.”
