A great double former of Udinese-Hellas Verona is definitely Gigi De Agostini. The former player spoke to the microphones of Il Gazzettino colleagues ahead of the Triveneto derby. Here are his statements.
INTENSE GARA – “I foresee a Triveneto derby in keeping with tradition: intense, spectacular and also full of goals. However, Udinese and Verona are living two particular moments. The Bianconeri are convincing in all respects, as is certified by their play and ranking, while Verona is fighting with its teeth to avoid relegation. Hellas has a four-point lead over the third-last so it must be more than ever on the “who goes there.” In Udine the Gialloblù are called upon to score, but to do so they will have to adjust their defense, being the formation that has conceded the most goals so far, and from this point of view I don’t think they sleep soundly. However, it will also be an important match for Udinese, which at this point must believe in the race for Europe.”
HERE UDINESE – “Compared to 2023-24 the Udinese team has grown a lot, it is a good reality of our soccer. Coach Runjaic has got right the most suitable system of play for his players, who are also better positioned on the field. But the difference is quality: I see a lot of it, far more than a year ago. Suffice it to say that someone like Sanchez does not find space and plays little.”
PRONOSISTS – “On paper Udinese is favored, but in soccer there are very fragile balances and nothing can be taken for granted.”
EUROPE FOR THE BIANCONERI? – “Now that the goal of salvation has been achieved, they can take the field with serenity and peace of mind. They have nothing to lose: they can express themselves at their best. They are living a happy moment, so they have to believe in it. Those in front will have to have a less expeditious race; anything can happen. Certainly Udinese is a real team.”
