Accomando: “Pellegrino? Two goals at Retegui, now we need continuity.”

On the Tutti in the box podcast, Orazio Accomando spoke about Mateo Pellegrino. The well-known Dazn journalist praised the Gialloblu striker’s double against Toro and made a curious parallel, these are his statements:

“This guy has something special. I was overwhelmed by the physicality and positive energy, as well as Mateo Pellegrino’s goals. He took Parma by storm. In Pellegrino I saw Retegui there. I am not saying they are similar, not even that he is the new Retegui, partly because in my opinion they have not yet seen the real Retegui at his full potential. But look at him aesthetically, in his movements and the kind of plays he makes. This one comes in, Retegui hair, 32 on his shoulders from Argentina named Mateo and he’s a striker. He attacks the second ball and scores a Retegui-esque goal: control and a lightning-fast left-footed shot on a loose ball inside the box after a nice scramble by Valeri. Ten minutes later a header at the first post. I am curious to see him at work, it was a dazzling and positive flash. Now we need continuity.”
