Former Rossoblù extreme defender Gianluca Pagliuca commented on the result of the weekend match (in this case Verona-Bologna 1-2). Below are his words.
VICTORY IN VERONA. “Bologna is a great team that goes out there and does not underestimate the opponent. The approach never fails. Against Verona it was a difficult game, they defended but Bologna had a good impact, although Montipò’s duck certainly helped. I see a cynical team, which scores when it has the opportunity and when it has to win, it wins. I am optimistic, I know it is tough to get back into the top four but it is still doable. It needed an away win where it threw a few points away, however, of the embargos it never took any. From now on I think the team can play very good games away from the Dall’Ara because by now the mentality is that: high pressing and aggression.”
NDOYE’S POSITION. “Ndoye is very fast and technically there are more gifted outfielders. On the right he goes like a splinter because on the left he always has to go back, but in any case I would always play him because he has quickness and is generous.”
ON SINGLES. “Odgaard is an indispensable player now and when he was missing it showed. Credit must be given to Italiano for transforming him from striker to half forward. Bravo also to Calabria for making assists as a trequartista, a fantastic ball. Fortunately Dallinga’s mistake didn’t cost anything, but that’s what strikers are: they either score or they miss.”
