Former Lazio goalkeeper Fernando Orsi spoke to the microphones of Il Messaggero Veneto ahead of Monday night’s challenge at the Olimpico against Udinese. Here is an excerpt of his statements to colleagues:
LAZIO – “It is a team with an important physical verve, but at the same time it must never drop the pace, otherwise it can suffer beyond the opponent even in games it dominates, as was seen in Milan where Lazio did not have the cynicism to close the game, winning it only at the last episode. The size is not yet that of the great team. Let’s say that today Lazio is playing the Bologna of last year.”
EUROPEAN QUALIFICATION FOR THE BIANCONERI – “Udinese has turned things around, but qualification for the next Conference Leafue remains objectively difficult. This year the Bianconeri have shown that they have a project that can be followed up with a foreign coach who immediately made his footballing beliefs clear. Getting back to Europe starts just like this, with a clear and useful path that helps indicate the changes that need to be made to get out of the limbo of the mid-table.”
UDINESE CHARACTERISTICS – “It is a team that comes at you with its athletic strength, as was seen very well in Naples. It is not an eye-stealing team, but it has definite characteristics and is complete. Now it has no weaknesses, it is a six on the report card in all departments, and with Thauvin and Lucca it knows how to strike.”
OKOYE OR PADELLI AT THE OLIMPIC? – “If Okoye is able to play, it is right for him to resume because he is the starter. And this is without taking anything away from Padelli. I just make it a question of hierarchy based on availability.”
