Veteran goalkeeper Marco Ballotta, former Lazio and Modena among others and who boasts the record in the Champions League of having taken the field with the biancoceleste jersey at the age of 43 and in Serie A with the “canarini” at the age of 44, spoke in the columns of the colleagues of Il Messaggero Veneto about the performance of 39-year-old Daniele Padelli against Parma. This is an excerpt of his statements:
“Old-timers” are always competitive and reliable! You take advantage of experience. Padelli was very good, he was ready, and it is not easy having played a long time before his last official match. Of matches, however, he had played many in his career. And that allows you to make a difference. You take advantage of the ability to read the action and the game. I would also add that if at almost 40 years old, you are still at that level, it means you have qualities.”
