You always preach calmness but after these wins in a row and having Parma and Empoli, can it be a shot forward? “We have to look for it without looking at the standings this shot. We promised the fans that we will fight until the end. I thank them, today it felt like playing at home. I came here to unite, the fans are important and if we can do that we can do something important.”
Casadei’s growth was striking: what work was done with him? “I think his growth came because a young man went to a major league. That was the first step. Casadei had the desire to come to Turin and it shows on the field, he was able to seize the opportunity, when you see guys coming in like that it’s all easier, now he just has to improve, I’ve always said that new guys help others to give more. There is a lot of competition and now it is easier for the coach.”
Where does Casadei still need to improve? “He has a lot of margins, in possession management he delays seeing the play or makes a few too many touches, he needs to use his physique better in contrasts, the physique needs to be used well. Then he has this gift of insertion times, I like players like that, it’s in his DNA and he has shown it before. Even if we play 2, I always left him the freedom to attack the area.”
Elmas’ quality makes sure those balls can go in the goal and not shot into the stands… “Mentality matters and playing for the team also matters, then welcome quality. Vlasic is also having continuity, that’s what I look for. In fact, I demand more in a positive sense, he can grow more. When he comes on he turns the team around.”
