Lazio needs to score points if it wants to chase qualification for the next Champions League, and it needs to start scoring them against the big teams. A trend that needs to be reversed, and right away. Lazio has scored only nine points against the bigs out of the 30 available, and that is something you cannot afford if you want to inhabit the upper echelons of the standings and if you want to qualify for the next Champions League. Less than a third, then, are the points gleaned by the biancocelesti against the top of the class.
The successes came against Napoli, at the Maradona, and Bologna, then home draws against Atalanta, Milan and Napoli, and defeats against Juventus, Inter, Fiorentina (first and second leg) and Roma in the derby. With the arrival of coach Baroni, the team has acquired a recognizable, entertaining and even effective game, but now with the biggies of our league the biancoceleste formation must score points, starting with the San Siro away match against Milan.
