During the course of Inter-Lazio, an ironic course started against Milan fans: a mockery difficult to digest

Another season of great disappointment for Milan. No surprises, however, among the fans, who had predicted this trend as early as last June. From the beginning, the management’s choices were quite questionable and now, when we are at the end of February, we have only had confirmation. The straw that broke the camel’s back came in mid-December last year on the occasion of the club’s 125th anniversary: from that Milan-Genoa match onward, the Rossoneri Curva Sud started a real protest against management and ownership.
In the crosshairs is Gerry Cardinale, who has not been seen in Milan since last August and his last appearance was in Madrid during Real-Milan. He has not made public statements or spoken for some time. At every Milan game, from the Curva Sud (whether at the San Siro or elsewhere) rises the now usual chorus, “Cardinale you have to sell, go away” and “We are not Americans.” And it has become a real mantra, ever present at every opportunity. And now it has also become a mockery for opponents.

On the occasion of Inter-Lazio, the Coppa Italia quarterfinal won by Simone Inzaghi’s team (which will then take on Milan in the semifinal of the competition), the Nerazzurri fans indulged in a goliardic moment. “Cardinal come on don’t sell, stay here” the chorus sung by the Curva Nord, thus mimicking that of their cousin rivals. A very ironic moment that is certainly not new.

In fact, this chorus by Inter fans has become customary in recent weeks, that is, since the Milanists began their protest against the club. It must be admitted that the mockery of the Inter fans is very ironic and goliardic. However, this does not stop the Milan fans, who continue to carry on their battle against RedBird, Cardinale and the management.
That so far, that is, since the new technical project began with the farewells of Maldini and Massara, has reaped only failures. But in addition to the results, what the fans really can’t get down with are the incomprehensible choices, which began precisely with the ousting of the Scudetto and Champions League semifinal executives and continued with the damaging sale of Sandro Tonali. And beware because Milan’s season, which is already a disaster, can get even worse because Champions League qualification is seriously at risk.
