Lecce last year had one point less than this season. Under Baroni two years ago, however, two points more. Lecce’s path is in line with the last few seasons, which then led to the salvation of the Giallorossi.
“In 2023, the Giallorossi closed the first round with 20 points after nineteen days. And after seven games of the return leg they had 27 points. In 2024, and so thirteen months ago, Roberto D’Aversa’s Lecce had 21 points at the halfway mark. In the first seven days of last season’s return leg, the Giallorossi faced Lazio away from home (0-1), Juventus at home (0-3), Genoa away (1-2), Fiorentina at home (3-2), Bologna (0-4) and Torino away (0-2), and finally Inter at home (0-4). In the light of these results, only three points were won, the ones obtained thanks to the home success against Fiorentina at Via del Mare. The goals scored were four, those conceded twenty.”
