Schierato per la prima volta titolare a causa dell’assenza di Borna Sosa, Biraghi non ha fatto per nulla rimpiangere il croato
The 26th round of Serie A smiled on Toro, which won well and deservedly against Milan. A great show of strength by the granata, helped yes by an own goal but able to get the better of a team full of star players. Much of the credit for the victory certainly goes to Milinkovic-Savic, the author of several key saves for the purposes of the result, but on the whole the entire defensive department – except for a few Pedersen’s smears – also performed very well. Maripan dominated over Gimenez, Coco returned to his early season levels, and Biraghi led the team and covered well over a dangerous player like Pulisic.
Un nuovo leader per il Toro
Deployed as a starter for the first time since his arrival in Piedmont due to the absence of Borna Sosa, the Italian full-back played a great game. The former Fiorentina player got the better of Pulisic, a very uncomfortable customer, never actually losing a real duel. The American is one of the best dribblers in the league, but the number 34 did not suffer a single dribble, containing him great. He also showed up a lot going forward in possession, giving extra passing options to his teammates.
Posto a rischio per Sosa?
If Biraghi is this, it is hard for Vanoli to take him off the field. Especially because in addition to lending a great hand from a defensive standpoint, the class of ’92 is also a charismatic man who can be heard by the team, having experiences as a captain. Is Sosa’s place therefore at risk? Who knows, but the coach can only be happy to have two such full-backs. The competition will be there and it will be healthy, and from week to week the one who has deserved it most will play.
