The next two games will be decisive for the former Milan man: he risks a resounding exoneration this season

Milan’s season is already a failure, and the risk that it can only get worse is very high. The defeat against Torino further complicated the already difficult fight for fourth place in the standings and thus qualification for the next Champions League. Sergio Conceicao had initially provided the jolt after Fonseca’s exoneration with the Super Cup win but then he is failing to have continuity, the same problem the previous coach was faced with.
The Portuguese coach is not to blame: he has been at Milan for almost two months and has played matches every three days, which means he has never had time to work as he would have liked. Hopefully now, with the Champions League gone and the weeks off, there can be an improvement in play as well as results (for what it’s worth). Stefano Pioli, who this time last year was already almost certain to leave the Milan bench at the end of the season, is not doing so well either.
Pioli a rischio esonero anche dall’Al-Nassr
Despite many bench changes at the end of last year, Pioli could not find another one either in Serie A or in other European leagues, so in September he took a great chance, more financial than professional: coaching the Al-Nassr of Cristiano Ronaldo and other champions in Saudi Arabia. A stellar contract and the chance of a lifetime for the coach, looking forward in the future to returning to Italy.

The Al-Nassr experience, however, could end very soon: the team in the last round of the championship lost to Al Ettifa, is currently in fourth place and therefore out of the Champions zone (the top three in the standings go there). Without at least qualifying for the tournament, it is very likely that the club will choose to change technical leadership at the end of the season. The farewell, however, could come even sooner: according to rumors coming out of Arabia, the next two games will be decisive.
At the moment there are only three points away from third place in the standings, which means that the chances of reaching the goal are still very high, but to do so it is necessary to win the next two games. In case of a lack of results in these matches, it is likely that Al-Nassr may decide to exonerate Pioli in order to shake up the team and try to achieve the result. The exoneration of the former AC Milan player would open the door to new opportunities, perhaps back in Italy ahead of the new season.
