Parola ai club / L’iniziativa contro il presidente Cairo: “Non ha la nostra passione”, “Siamo diventati dei clienti, non rispetta la storia del club”
As was the case back in early February, 75 Toro Clubs and groups bought a page in the newspaper Tuttosport this morning to contest Cairo and the club. The contestation against Cairo has been going on for years now, but this season it has certainly intensified, So we asked some Toro Clubs to talk about the initiative and, more generally, about the faults to be blamed on Cairo in the management of Torino.

“After the strong protest that began in August with the demonstration, we 75 Toro Club decided to buy the page to very civilly ask Cairo to leave us, to leave us our freedoms and our future. The thing I liked was that all the clubs immediately agreed to self-tax themselves to buy the page without even discussing.”

“This is not the first time, we had also done it a little year ago. The initiator is Patrignani, he is the one who came up with the idea. We joined as an association because members’ initiatives should be supported by the association they are part of, and also because we need to remind the president that we have not changed our mind, that we have not forgotten what he has done and is doing. So that we can remind him that we are in that 25 percent who are challenging him.”

“We also did it because protesting in front of the stadium doesn’t end anything, people still come in. It’s okay to support the jersey but up to a certain point because if people didn’t go to the stadium and Cairo didn’t get more money maybe they would have some problems.”

“He is not one of ours, he has never shown that he has our passion. He shows that he cares very little about Toro, he only runs it economically and he only cares about it to the extent that he can make money from it. Toro is floating, we have not asked to be at the level of the top teams, but we are far away at the level of results and corporate goals even from economically similar teams like Lazio, Bologna, Atalanta and Fiorentina. As we wrote, at first we welcomed him as a savior, then we realized that we would have no future.”

The youth sector is cutting edge but we need facilities where they can train together and learn from the older ones.”

“Market of a certain bleakness. Since we lost Zapata we have had no reference points in attack. The primary goal of the market has been failed. Casadei looks like a good player, Biraghi is also a good player but he has been playing and not playing for months, Salama is an unknown, the only really strong one is Elmas who, however, will be impossible to redeem. I did not like the buying campaign. Djuric would have been good too. The coach insistently asked for a spearhead and it did not come.”
