Mario Balotelli, the announcement about the striker’s future arrives: there are no more doubts

It was supposed to be the turning point, give him a new chance in Serie A and instead his adventure at Genoa is turning into a nightmare. The reference is of course to Mario Balotelli, “prisoner” of a contract signed last October. He had several options on the table Supermario, including the interest of Torino but in the end he opted for the Grifone because he was strongly wanted by Alberto Gilardino, the then coach of the Rossoblu.

The former World Champion striker, however, was exonerated after barely a week, without the possibility of being able to bet on the class of ’90 to rise in the standings. And so that task fell to Vieira, who almost never counted – by technical choice – on Balotelli.

A situation that has caused great discontent in the player who has totaled the pittance of six appearances and 56′ total in this Serie A. Not exactly what he expected when as a free agent he preferred Genoa to other options. Supermario is paying for his relationship on the lowest terms with Vieira, a legacy of bitterness born in his Nice days and evidently never overcome.

La cessione saltata in inverno, il possibile futuro: cosa succede a Supermario

A situation that prompted Balotelli on the one hand to always work with great concentration in training to make himself ready and on the other to look around for a new solution. In January, the parties worked to find a solution that would be agreeable to everyone but without positive outcome.

The usual Torino, but also Venezia after the sale of Pohjanpalo (before the signing of Fila) and Monza in the last hours of the winter session: all options blown, including Trapani who also would have wanted him in Serie C, with Balotelli then remaining in Genoa. But until when? A bit of the question everyone is asking but which at the moment still has no answer.

The Italian market is of course closed and even in case he singles equally he could not sign for another club. This is quite a problem for Balotelli who in the summer, just to continue his career in Italy, had turned down several foreign options by starting the season as a free agent.

Balotelli, addio Genoa: le parole del ds

It certainly looks like Balotelli, however, will not end his season with the Grifone shirt. Genoa’s ds Marco Ottolini put it bluntly. “We spoke clearly with Mario,” he claimed, “he is on the list and training. The manager, however, did not at all rule out his transfer, quite the contrary.

“Mario is keen to play, some markets are still open and let’s see what can be done, let’s work to find a solution,” he claimed. Yeah, but where can Balotelli end up? First, he will have to enter the order of ideas that he will have to leave Italy, despite his reluctance.

There is no shortage of interesting options abroad: in the summer, both from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates came very inviting offers, but also from Brazil and the Mls. And now? In the last few days several interests have come from Brazilian and U.S. clubs, ready once again to return to the charge.

Last summer Corinthians had gone so far as to offer him a two-year deal but without convincing him. And who knows, this time he might not complete the transaction for what would really be a knockout blow. It is not out of the question, however, that Balotelli might decide to move to the United States, playing in a league where the main star is Leo Messi, an Inter Miami star who boasts several other former Barcelona players on his team.
