Milanese unleashed: snatching coach from two historic rivals

Next year’s Milan derby could be a truly sci-fi derby: if Inzaghi and Conceiçao leave, there are two bombshell names for Inter and Milan

The Milanese are moving, and they are doing so with a strategy that threatens to hurt, very hurt, two historic rivals. Inter and Milan are planning for the future on their benches, and the names in the mix are not mere suggestions, but real “snatching” operations against clubs that could feel the blow.

Simone Inzaghi has taken Inter to the top of Italian soccer, but the lure of the Premier League may be too strong to resist. The coach from Piacenza is liked by several English clubs, and the Nerazzurri club is already studying the profile of his eventual successor.

According to rumors gathered by our editorial staff, Giuseppe Marotta has identified Massimiliano Allegri as the right man for the post-Inzaghi era. On the other side of Milan, however, the temptation is strong: to replace Sergio Conceiçao with none other than Antonio Conte.

If these scenarios were to materialize, the reactions would be fiery. Allegri at Inter would mean seeing the former Juventus coach on the bench of the team that most contended for titles with his Juventus. Hard to imagine that Juventus fans would take it well.

And the same is true for Napoli: a farewell of Conte after only one season would represent no small blow, considering that the former Chelsea man had been chosen as the reference point for the relaunch of the Azzurri project. Seeing him at AC Milan, then, would add further spice to the affair, given the Apulian coach’s past also at Juve and Inter.

Allegri all’Inter, Conte al Milan: uno scenario che sarebbe clamoroso

And so Inter is thinking about Allegri, and certainly not as of today. The former Juventus coach is free after his farewell to the Bianconeri and wants to return to the bench. And Milan, a city he habitually frequents, seems to be increasingly on his radar.

Allegri has the right profile to pick up Inzaghi’s legacy: experience, group management and, above all, a winning mentality that could guarantee Inter continuity and competitiveness. It is no mystery that in recent times the Livorno-born coach has been spotted often in the Lombard capital, a city he already frequented on a regular basis anyway. Signs of a rapprochement? Perhaps so.

On the other side of the Naviglio, Milan must resolve the coaching grana. Sergio Conceiçao’s adventure may not continue beyond this season, and the Rossoneri club has already resumed its courtship of an old darling: Antonio Conte.

The former Inter and Juventus coach had already been the main target of the Milan management last year, before choosing Napoli. But now the situation has changed: the Neapolitan adventure is not giving the hoped-for certainties, and his future is far from defined.

According to what Alfio Musmarra revealed to Top Calcio 24, there would be several contacts between Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Antonio Conte. The Swedish manager would be very determined to bring the coach from Puglia to Milanello, convinced that he is the right man to bring Milan back to the top. The contacts between the parties would go on even since January, a sign that the court is insistent and concrete.

In short, the Milanese are moving ahead, and if the plans go through, next season could start with two revolutionized benches and quite a bit of venom scattered among the rivals.
