Collovati: “Udinese against Empoli will have to play the game: now the calendar must be exploited”

Colleagues from Il Gazzettino interviewed former player Fulvio Collovati, who spoke about the situation at home Udinese after the draw with Napoli and ahead of the home match against Empoli. Here are his words:

“Udinese cannot hope for a goal from Lucca, who I like very much, or magic from another of its players, which can be Thauvin or Sanchez. Instead, it must continue to play as a team, pushing until the end. It is right to expect more from the Bianconeri, as the team I admired on Sunday is strong in every area. Even the defense seemed to me to be among the most airtight. So far the consensus of the bianconeri is positive. Thirty points is not a few. However, before defeating Venezia at home two rounds ago, it took them three months to find their way back to success: they had not won a home victory since October, during the 2-0 win over Cagliari. The time has come to shift gears, sending out signals that can substantiate the dream of participating in the Conference League or Europa League next season. The calendar lends a hand to Runjaic’s team, as they will face Lecce and Parma after Empoli. This is a big opportunity to improve the standings and should be taken advantage of, because it will not happen again in this tournament. This time, however, it will have to play the game, while in Naples it acted mostly on a remittance.”
