Just 14 fouls whistled for Livio Marinelli at the “Maradona” in his direction of Napoli-Udinese 1-1. English direction letting play a lot, sometimes too much (clear for example a foul of Kristensen on David Neres not whistled in favor of Napoli, Ed), but all in all sufficient performance and that does not affect the final result. Let’s go to analyze the main episodes.
NAPOLI’S GOL – Great protests from Udinese, but regular goal. McTominay does not foul Kristensen. Then Lukaku does not disturb Sava even though he is in an offside position and therefore not sanctionable within the action.
UDINESE EQUALIZE – Here Marinelli was good in noting that the ball touched by Mazzocchi did not go out for a lateral foul crossing the line completely, the action then continued and developed until it ended with Ekkelenkamp’s equalizing goal.
CRIMONITION – Only one, in Lucca and for that matter exaggerated since the Friulan striker really did not deserve it by committing a “normal” foul on opposing captain Di Lorenzo.
For this set of reasons, the editors of CalcioUdinese decide to award a grade of 6 on the report card to referee Livio Marinelli for his performance at the “Maradona.”
