Verona-Atalanta, Sozza referees: the precedent smiles on the Nerazzurri

Simone Sozza of the Seregno section will direct the challenge between Verona and Atalanta, valid for the 24th day of Serie A, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 8, at 3 p.m. at the Stadio Bentegodi. Assisting him will be Matteo Passeri (Gubbio) and Luca Mondin (Treviso), while the fourth man will be Simone Galipò (Florence). Valerio Marini (Roma 1) has been designated VAR, with Maurizio Mariani (Aprilia) as AVAR.

Un precedente favorevole ai bergamaschi

Sozza has already refereed a match between Verona and Atalanta last season, specifically on May 20, 2023, when the Nerazzurri won 3-1 at the Gewiss Stadium. After Lazovic’s early lead for Verona (11′), Atalanta reversed the result thanks to goals by Zappacosta (22′), Pasalic (53′) and Hojlund (62′). Gasperini’s team, in the midst of the race for a Champions League spot, aims to confirm the positive trend with the Lombard referee, while Verona will be looking for precious points for salvation.
