Santiago Gimenez is the big hit of the winter soccer market. The Mexican national team striker is the new center forward for AC Milan, who can finally look to the future with optimism and think they have a player on their hands who will really score a lot.

Gimenez is a player followed by several teams. Milan thus beat out some important competition. This was revealed by Dennis Te Kloese. Feyenoord’s general manager, to ‘TUDN.com’ during the ‘Faitelson Uncensored’ program, spoke about the bomber’s transfer, making several interesting revelations:

“It is difficult to comment on another team. Obviously it’s a historic team, a team where there have been great strikers. He will be next in their history. I think he was a fan of the club since he was very young. I think this will give him a special feeling of being able to represent the colors of this team. I have no personal interest, beyond the fact that I have a lot of affection for the player and his family, but it is 100 percent a professional decision and at this point, reaching these figures, it is no longer responsible, so to speak, to let the club take it.”

Te Kloese: “Molte squadre volevano Santi Gimenez”

Santiago Gimenez is yet another major outgoing deal by Feyenoord: “In the last three and a half years that I have been here we have sold players to Manchester United, Benfica, and now Milan, Leipzig, and Brighton. We have broken sales records in the last three years and he is the biggest sale at the club. And I take that as a personal satisfaction because obviously it’s been very nice to see where he came from, when he came from, where he grew up and how he developed. He has become very loved by the fans and the club and very respected in a faraway country.”

As mentioned, there were other clubs on Santi Gimenez, but no concrete offer: “Formal in writing, no. There were many teams following him. Many teams from leagues like France, Italy, and even England. His move would happen in a higher league, but around the summer and without anything being decided yet. The most concrete and most formal thing in this case was Milan. And I also believe that this is what convinced Santiago and his family the most.”
