The numbers testify to the critical nature of the situation: in 2024/25, Atalanta’s players have already missed a total of 127 games, with an average of five matches missed per roster member. Only a few players, including de Roon, Ederson, Samardzic, Pasalic, and Palestra, have avoided major injuries, providing continuity for the team. In recent years, Atalanta has gone from almost injury-free management to recurring moments of emergency, as happened in the return leg of 2021/22 and the final round of 2022/23. Now Gasperini will have to find new solutions to keep the team competitive despite the difficulties.
