The report cards of Atalanta-Torino: Maripan increasingly a leader, Milinkovic-Savic decisive

Faticano gli attaccanti, sia Adams che Sanabria perdono il duello contro Hien. Lazaro prezioso: le pagelle di Atalanta-Torino

MILINKOVIC SAVIC 8: In the first leg he had saved Pasalic’s penalty, now he repeated himself on Retegui. In the first half he was also good at opposing a Brescianini deflection. He was not at fault on Djimsiti’s winning header that allowed Atalanta to take the lead.

PEDERSEN 5.5: From his side Atalanta manages to get through on a couple of occasions too easily. Shy also in the offensive phase, in fact he is seen little in the opponent’s half. At halftime Vanoli calls him back to the bench. (st 1′ WALUKIWICZ 6: Gives more solidity on the right flank and with his centimeters he is invaluable in the box when Atalanta starts to spring crosses).

MARIPAN 7.5: Defensively he is practically perfect, he is always in the right place at the right time but, above all, he has the great merit of scoring the 1-1 goal. At the time of the penalty for Atalanta he goes to rattle Retegui before the shot: it worked.

COCO 5: He is in great difficulty this evening. He gets his header anticipated by Djimsiti on Atalanta’s momentary 1-0 goal, then risks a penalty foul when he touches a ball with his hand in the box. Fortunately for the referee, his arm was close to his body.

SOSA 6: Bellanova has a different pace than him but the Croatian fullback manages to contain him well enough that, in fact, the former Torino player only gets away from him once. Sufficient performance from him.

RICCI 6: He is forced into more of a game of sacrifice, taking care of the defensive phase more than the offensive one. When he has the ball at his feet, however, he hardly ever misses.

TAMEZE 6: The penalty foul on Retegui (a bit generous the referee’s whistle to be honest) stains his good performance. He also showed himself in the offensive phase with a couple of good personal initiatives. (st 31′ GINEITIS: sv)

LAZARO 6.5: Valuable both offensively and defensively. He darts the perfect free kick for Maripan’s winning header then, on the last play of the first half, he is good at anticipating Brescianini a few meters from the goal line. A providential intervention. (st 40′ MASINA: sv).

VLASIC 6.5: All of Torino’s offensive initiatives come from his feet, he even gets the free kick from which Maripan’s goal comes. He confirms that he is in excellent form with another good performance.

KARAMOH 5.5: Lights up only at times, as when he carves out space at the end of the first half to wheedle his way to the conclusion. Too little, however, to merit a sufficiency on the report card. (st 17′ NJIE 6: Forced into a sacrifice finish, when he can he does show up forward and even engages Rui Patricio with a conclusion from the edge).

ADAMS 5: He does not repeat the performance he did against Cagliari. He shows little but it must also be said that he gets few balls forward. And when he is served he has to deal with Hien’s marking that makes his night even more complicated. (st 17′ SANABRIA 5.5: Doesn’t combine much more than the partner he replaces. Hien wins the duel with him as well).

ALL. VANOLI 7: Another gritty performance by his Torino, which also comes out unbeaten from the Atalanta pitch. While waiting for reinforcements from the market to be available, he confirms the same eleven that had won against Cagliari and the move turns out to be the right one.
