AS ROMA NEWS – Manu Koné recently gave an interview to Idealista News for the column “At the Home of Champions.” Here are the words of the Giallorossi midfielder who arrived at Roma in the summer.
Already you are an idol for Roma fans. How does it feel?”
“It’s a great feeling. I would like to thank the fans for how they have welcomed me. I feel very good here and their support during matches motivates me. They are passionate, loving fans. I hope they will continue to encourage us because we need to continue the climb in the league.”
Why do you celebrate by waving the corner kick flag?
“This gesture reminds me of that of a warrior in an arena, waving a flag. It was something I was already doing in Germany and it is a way to externalize participation, passion.”
What do you think of the city of Rome?
“It is clearly a beautiful city. I have already walked around Rome with my family. I’ve done a few tours among the stores doing some shopping. I have yet to visit the Colosseum and the Vatican. I hope to have this opportunity soon, but playing every three days at the moment is complicated.”
What is your favorite place in the city?
“I don’t really have a favorite area. After practice, I try to spend as much time as possible within the home. I try to sleep. I also have a physical trainer at home, who follows me, to whom I dedicate time for training. Rome is a special city. Since we were children we have been studying its history in school. It is the capital of Italy, a mythical city.”
Are you planning to buy a house in Rome and build your dream home here?
“The housing I have found, at the moment, fully satisfies me. I practically live there alone, however, I have a large family who, when they visit me, I like to host to spend time together. Actually, I haven’t thought about whether to buy or not yet. I want to focus only on soccer.”
What do you like to do in your spare time?
“I like to listen to music, dance, watch videos of my games, rest and, as I said, also work with my trainer.”
If you had to choose a teammate to live with?
“I think I would get along well with one of Saud, Soulé and Ndicka. They are the ones I have bonded with most easily since I have been here.”
