CA’s report cards – Retegui punished by episodes, De Roon fantastic in the second half

Nerazzurri report cards for Atalanta-Torino

RUI PATRICIO, VOTE 6: His last in A was almost a year ago, in Roma-Inter 2-4. Not noticeable on balance. Note of credit for a good exit with his feet in the closing part of the second half.

DJIMSITI, VOTE 7: Very good even beyond the goal, rarely misses even a single ball.

HIEN, VOTE 7: Adams, and then Sanabria, would have the mobility to create headaches, but that’s not going to happen. His best performance of 2025 so far.

KOLAŠINAC, VOTE 6: Positive for the half-hour he plays, then has to give up because of a muscle soreness in his flexor. Carries the ball often as a “free man” with respect to the organization of Toro’s pressure. The stop just wasn’t needed, especially after the Montjuïc scare.

BELLANOVA, VOTE 6.5: Very good, not only because of the disallowed goal. He constantly puts Sosa, Atalanta’s former market target, in trouble, and when he starts at speed he is at times irrepressible. Also improving in technical finishing in tight spaces.

ÉDERSON, VOTE 6: Plays a decent performance, even trying to provide his teammates with a few interesting balls inside the sixteen meters during the second half.

DE ROON, VOTE 6.5: He becomes a real factor in the second half, with balls recovered in the opponent’s half that are not counted. He will say “34” in March, but for Atalanta he is irreplaceable, and probably will be for some time to come.

RUGGERI, VOTE 5.5: He is not in his best period regardless and Lookman’s absence takes away an important reference. Practically reduced to zero offensive contribution; better times will return.

BRESCIANINI, VOTE 5.5: There would be on record a clever play on the occasion of the goal later cancelled to Bellanova. Otherwise little construction, with some not inconsiderable inaccuracies. Down from the last few very good outings.

DE KETELAERE, VOTE 6: A mixture of some truly enlightening plays and a few measuring errors, with a fairly conspicuous drop off early in the second half.

RETEGUI, VOTE 5: Too “lazy” on Lazaro’s cross and with mistake from the penalty spot. Attitude would be 7, as always, but this time the episodes condemn him.

TOLÓI, VOTE 6: He did not disfigure at all and was applauded on several occasions by the audience, rightly so. This was not easy, given the context and the cold entry.

CUADRADO, VOTE 6.5: He always goes to the right when dribbling. Opponents know it but they still can’t stop him, despite the fact that his age is now 36. His entrance gave so much vitality.

PAŠALIĆ, VOTE 5.5: Very decisive away from sixteen yards, much less so when ready to strike as an added center forward.

SAMARDŽIĆ, VOTE 6: He gives as usual a very good contribution when he comes in, but at times he seems to overdo it in the number of touches.

SCAMACCA SV: Comes in and immediately tries a header, probably intended to be high just over the crossbar, which Milinković-Savić blocks. Welcome back.

GASPERINI, VOTE 6: The figure for so-called expected goals even speaks of a number close to 3, obviously “inflated” also by the missed penalty. After a first half with a few too many technical errors the team deserves success, but this time the now familiar game plan fails, with the changes often decisive in terms of goals or assists to affect. Calls from the bench remain good, although the full result does not come.
