Pavan: “Juventus in trouble all game against Benfica”

In his editorial on TJ, Massimo Pavan returned to Juventus’ defeat against Benfica in the Champions League. Here are his words, “Disappointment, big, a big, disappointment, the match against Benfica was supposed to be the one of the possible revival after the bad second half in Naples instead it was not so. We saw a Juventus in trouble from the beginning where it had left from the start prairies to Benfica rebounding its blow, however, and collapsed, also psychologically, after Pavlidis’ goal. Exactly the same path we saw two years ago with Allegri, when even then the team collapsed against the Portuguese.”

Pavan: “Ci sono delle valutazioni errate di Thiago Motta”

Thiago Motta, allenatore della Juventus

The journalist continued: “Once again there may be alibis, at least for the defensive phase, with so many absentees in the defense you struggle, but there are also erroneous evaluations of Thiago Motta and a question; but why Weah and not Savona on the flank? After all, perhaps it is better to put a less strong but role player than a more capable but totally out-of-role player, and Juventus found themselves suffering in a very important way in that area of the field.

And on the other side, clearly injuries continue to debilitate a team, now Kalulu and that’s three center backs out of the initial four, too much. The last one Kalulu’s, the problem the defender had certainly is heavy because it exposes the fig leaf that there had been at this stage in the Champions League and also of the whole team where you only have two centerbacks and if one gets injured, you go into total apnea. It’s an ugly and difficult situation, because the confidence in Thiago Motta was there maybe few had illusions that he could win but many hoped that he could have a mid-high level season.” Read also Benfica coach’s words after the victory over Juventus <<<
