LECCE:
Falcone 7.5 – The goalkeeper returns to the shields and to prove decisive in the outcome. Immediately a feat to remove it from the corner to Mihaila, whom he opposes on two other occasions. In the resumption crucial again on Cancellierie and Valeri, who to beat him has to shoot under the crossbar from the eleven meters
Guilbert 6 – Positive performance overall, albeit in suffering. Containing today’s Valeri and Mihaila is not easy, he holds his own even on Camara, the one who gives him the most trouble. Interventions of authority, although in the final he risks making a big mess and is saved by Falcone
Baschirotto 5.5 – Like every time he encounters Djuric it’s pain for him. Winning duels on high balls is utopia, so he tries to break away but it’s worse because he gives away an avoidable penalty (very wrong body posture) for a hand foul. In the second half he staggers several times, but minding his own business with a few lectures from Falcone he brings home the task
Jean 6.5 – Baschirotto-like test of substance, but with much less suffering and in fact barely half an inaccuracy (late closure on Cancellieri early in the second half). The Frenchman plays his best game in a Lecce jersey, not only in coverage but especially on the ball at the foot. Authoritative performance of someone who wants to do everything to prove he is Serie A
Gallo 6 – Returning from his second injury of the season, he faces an uncomfortable customer like Cancellieri. And in fact he sweats a lot, taking an hour or so to get his measure in the best way to be able to suffer the bare minimum being saved by Falcone early in the second half. With former partner Almqvist he goes on a carriage ride and also offers Helgason a badly wasted ball
Helgason 8 – He misses the easiest thing, that is, the ball of the tic-tac-toe with a half-empty goal, but only because it would have created an embarrassment in the choice of candidates for the next Golden Ball. A joke to emphasize the perfection of the Icelandic’s performance, impeccable in inventing for his teammates whether they are two or fifty meters away. Gasps, dribbling, assists (he invents on the disallowed goal, on the first good one and for Morente’s chances and more), closures, willingness to fight so much as to “cancel” the substitution request: a player reborn
Pierret 6 – Sufficiency taken by the hair, or rather by the drops of sweat he puts in until the last moment of the game. For a good hour he is the one who makes the most mistakes among the guests, with too many lost balls and little protection given to the defense. Off the hardest part of the match, rewarded by the coach with confirmation on the field, he closes on a crescendo thanks to the right verve
Ramadani 6 – Returns as a starter and takes little time to put on the field the house specialties of tireless pressing and yellow cards. He proves to be on the ball and also contributes to more than one good play by his men. Replaced after difficulties in the second half
Pierotti 7.5 – He wants to prove that he is the post Dorgu on the right wing and so he takes a few moments and enters the match, with a couple of accelerations (and a late assist to Krstovic by a notch) that soon make the Parma defense creak. However, the first half’s dangerousness is nothing compared to the way he bites into the second, deciding the match with two solo breakaways to reward Krstovic’s generosity. In general, even in coverage, he makes very few mistakes.
Krstovic 8 – One of, if not Krstovic’s best performance since his arrival in Lecce. He gets a penalty revoked, scores a goal disallowed, another good one among the finest headers ever seen and to all this he adds two platinum assists for Pierotti’s centers and the ability to do department by himself perfectly. For the record, even a near-easy failed goal, just so he doesn’t get a 10 on the report card
Karlsson 6 – In his first start as a starter, it takes him a while to carbonize, initially missing a few too many balls. The qualities are unquestionable, however, and in fact he first enters the beautiful action of the lead then cancelled out to Krstovic and then offers the Montenegrin a great ball wasted by the latter. Then little else until the change
Coulibaly 6.5 – Lecce, it must be said, was traveling well this time without him. Who, however, for a change, made himself ready to the sound of impeccable closures and ability to get his people going again
Morente 6.5 – Like the Malian, he, too, enters the field with the best flair and the mentality needed to get his team up to speed. And he does it by putting in dynamism and quality, even going close to a great goal on the turn
Coach Giampaolo 7.5 – A reaction was needed and reaction it was. The excellent first half of the match suggested that no, this time one or two unlucky episodes would not be enough to change the inertia of a match that saw Lecce present, authoritative, capable of putting on the green rectangle the identity demanded by its leadership. This time the scene, it must be said, is taken by the quality of a few individuals who were able to enhance a score prepared in the right way
