Lecce’s perfect crime, Krstovic and Pierotti annihilate Parma

Another Lecce’s away strike. After Venezia and Empoli, another field of a direct opponent is violated by Marco Giampaolo’s eleven. In Parma, Lecce suffers in the first half but shows it can strike with a Krstovic total leader of the attack. The Montenegrin scores a goal, has another one disallowed for inches of offside and, in the second half, lays on two golden balls for Santiago Pierotti’s man-of-the-match for winning statistics.

Lecce starts the match trying to dribble. At 8′ Suzuki lands Krstovic, but the striker’s initial offside position thwarts the referee’s decision. Parma orchestrates well looking for spaces to set off the arrows of Cancellieri and Mihaila. The Romanian converges in the center at 20′ and fires a thunderbolt that Falcone deflects off the post. Wisps on the other side as well. At 25′ Helgason cuts the field in two with the ball on the foot, also packing a tunnel, the ball arrives to Krstovic, winning left-footer with deflection by Vogliacco and attached jubilation nullified by Var for offside toe. Four minutes later, Karlsson feeds Krstovic, saucer from excellent position out of the mirror. At 32′, Sozza awards a penalty to Parma after on field review. Baschirotto has his arm wide on Djuric’s albeit close header. From the penalty spot, Valeri unloads a central shot. Krstovic is on form and immediately scores the 1-1 at 37′. As in the disallowed goal, the assist, most valuable, is by Helgason. Cross with the counter for Krstovic’s soft header at the far post. The game travels fast. Falcone fends off Mihaila at 39′ and controls Djuric’s turn that goes wide. Mihaila again at 41′, before leaving the field due to muscle trouble: strong free kick tamed in two times with some fuss by the visiting goalkeeper. Before the break, Baschirotto sweeps poorly and Falcone defuses Anas’ taut cross.

Parma started the resumption on the attack and at 49′, on a central breakthrough by Bonny, Falcone closed in to cross Cancellieri. The hosts have physicality up front with Bonny-Djuric and put Lecce on the ropes. At 55′, Cancellieri smashes in a header without creating any danger. Giampaolo gasses up with Morente and Coulibaly and tries to cool the Crusaders’ vehemence. At 61′ Bonny finds the outside of the net. Two minutes later, Lecce strikes. Krstovic collects from Guilbert and sends Pierotti flying, who slips it past Suzuki once in the box. Parma presses, Valenti attempts a eurogoal at 68′, ball into the corner. Almqvist and Hainaut come in to also give speed on the right axis. At 74′, Falcone easily nabs Djuric’s header.

On a Lecce restart in the 76th minute, Helgason, the author of another positive performance, misses the impact with the ball alone in the box on Suzuki’s bungling. In the 80th minute, Morente dances to the edge of the area and grazes the crossbar by kicking in a roundabout way. Nervousness conditions the cleanliness of Parma’s attacks and Giampaolo goes back to demanding dribbling from his men. Lecce also felt so much the passing minutes and in the 88th minute Falcone and Guilbert misunderstood each other on a low exit by the goalkeeper. In the dying minutes Lecce takes it home. Krstovic plays in as a centerback and opens for Pierotti to slot in behind the defense. The Argentine retaliates and takes home his first double in Italy. On the day of Dorgu’s farewell to Lecce, the 3,000-plus Giallorossi fans cheer another, very important, win in a direct clash.
