The news coming in this morning upsets all soccer fans: the former Serie A champion arrested for international drug trafficking.
Sensational announcement from Belgium, starring a footballer who has featured in past years, in the Serie A league. The former midfielder of, among others, Roma and Inter Radja Nainggolan has been arrested. The charge is really heavy: international drug trafficking, cocaine trafficking. In these hours, the footballer – now on the strength of Lokeren – Temse (a team in the second division of Belgian soccer, ed.) – is under interrogation as part of an investigation concerning drug trafficking from South America to the port of Antwerp.
The news of his arrest, leaked just moments ago from Belgium, has been confirmed by the Brussels Public Prosecutor’s Office, as reported by the online edition of Corriere della Sera. At the moment, the news is still fragmentary, as more details cannot be revealed considering the presumption of innocence.

“The questioning is currently ongoing and, in accordance with the principle of presumption of innocence, no further comments will be made at this stage.”
In the coming hours, therefore, news is expected regarding the Nainggolan case. The former Roma, Cagliari and Inter Milan midfielder has already been arrested by Antwerp police in 2022, after being caught driving without validity: the document in question had been withdrawn from him in 2021, after he was stopped under the influence of alcohol while driving well over the speed limit.
