Roma Stadium, budget set: from the Friedkins 1.2 billion euros

AS ROMA NEWS – More than a billion. It comes to 1.2 billion euros: that many will be needed to pay for the Roma stadium in Pietralata, the parking lots, the bicycle and pedestrian bridges, the green park and the sports park open to citizens, writes Il Messaggero (F. Magliaro). If Roma on the field is struggling by alternating bitter defeats with good victories, from the point of view of structural investment we are moving forward, slowly and cautiously, but we are moving forward.

Dispelling, meanwhile, those rumors of a disengagement on the part of the Friedkins that hover in the corridors of the Senatorial Palace where a segment of people doubt the Americans’ willingness to carry out the stadium project. Indeed, at the moment, according to leaks, not only has Dan Friedkin approved the budget for the operation but the possibility of self-financing the work would be under consideration. In what percentage, whether partial or total, then, will be seen when Roma presents the final project with the financial business plan.

All the technical tables are moving forward: the issues related to parking lots and bicycle and pedestrian bridges now seem to be dissolved. In the project that has received public interest, there are some works that should be considered as mandatory, borne by the yellow and red club and on which the very imprimatur of interest to the city has been granted.

On the issue of the alleged Pietralata “forest,” City Planning Councillor Veloccia doesn’t mince words: “In the meantime, the issue must be addressed by respecting the ongoing work of the Public Prosecutor’s Office. But then, no one in the municipality denies that there are green areas there, but what has always been affirmed is that landscape and environmental constraints are absent and no constraints have been highlighted in any prescriptive table.”
