Not only the disqualification of Lorenzo Lucca: messing up the offensive plans of coach Kosta Runjaic towards the home match against Atalanta was also the precarious physical condition of English center forward Keinan Davis. The player was supposed to replace the Italian center forward alongside captain Thauvin, but the news filtering in from the “Bruseschi” is alarming. In fact, the former Watford man was limited to personalized work without being able to carry out the session with the rest of the group due to the protracted problem in the soleus of his right leg.
Coach Kosta Runjaic must therefore study alternative solutions. The idea would be to launch a “light attack” by flanking the recovered Alexis Sanchez, who may not have all 90′ minutes still in his legs after the very long injury layoff, with the Juventus captain Florian Thauvin, at the moment the only one certain of a place in the attack, in order not to give any points of reference to the black-and-blue defenders.
The alternatives are the young Spanish striker Iker Bravo, another youngster such as Chilean center forward Damian Pizarro who has so far played only a snapshot of a game in the Italian Cup, the returning Pafundi who meanwhile has chosen the No. 20 jersey after his return following his non-redemption from Lausanne or the Brazilian Brenner who, however, no longer seems to fit into the German coach’s plans and would end up on the market.
It seems, therefore, that in the event of Davis’ probable absence it will be Alexis Sanchez who will flank Captain Thauvin in attack.
