Fabio Cudicini died, the “Black Spider” was 89 years old

Fabio Cudicini, former goalkeeper for Udinese, Milan and Roma in the 1960s and 1970s, has passed away at the age of 89. Born in Trieste on Oct. 20, 1935, Cudicini grew up in Udinese’s youth ranks before making his first-team debut in 1958. The former goalkeeper wore the Juventus jersey until 1958, before moving to Roma, with whom he won the Fairs Cup in 1961, as well as a Coppa Italia in 1964. After a spell at Brescia, Nereo Rocco brought him to AC Milan in 1967. In the Rossoneri, Cudicini was dubbed “Black Spider” by the British press after two great performances in Glasgow and Manchester. With the Milan formation he would be decisive in winning a Scudetto, an Italian Cup, a Champions Cup, a Cup Winners’ Cup and the first Intercontinental, in 1969.
